The Indigistream story…

It all started when…

I left the national broadcaster, the ABC. My role was with the national Indigenous radio program “Speaking Out”, as the producer and host. I was so proud to be a part of this program following in the footsteps of Rhianna Patrick, Karen Dorante and Wayne Coolwell. During my time at Aunty, we celebrated 25 years of Speaking Out. The stories from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, events and news was encapsulated of several weeks of programming to highlight the amazing work done by my past producers, hosts and guests. As bitter as the break-up was, and in my opinion only (it was handled poorly) on many grounds, I thought how will this great work continue? The social media accounts were built and delivered video stories from locations in the Torres Straits, Cairns Indigenous Art Fair and many other places and events. We were going to the communities and people. This is when Indigistream was born. I took my skills, experience and contacts and follow up on Indigenous stories. This work continues today and Indigistream’s production arm has produced content for broadcasters, state and federal governments departments and community organisations. I have a trusted Indigenous team I call on for major projects. And meet deadlines within budget. In 2019 I graduated with a Graduate Certificate in Writing, Editing, Publishing at The University of Queensland. and have accepted my Masters in Communications with a major in Strategic Communications.
